  It works with imcomp.pl now, so covers everything Data::BitStream has.

- push trim to Data::BitStream

- redo Data::BitStream to use our pos and len

- revisit assert / croak / die.
   - Carp::croak for any user input that isn't right.
   - die if we mess up internally.
   - assert() only for "OMG, something is really wrong with our state"
     No user input or stream data should get us to assert.  You can think
     of the assert lines as a comment to the programmer saying "obviously
     this condition holds right now."  Code below that point now can go
     on with its task knowing that is true.  Any time an assertion fires,
     that means all the code below must be carefully examined to make sure
     it can work with the new case.  It also means someone's assumptions
     about the state of the world / input were incorrect.
  As someone on perlmonks (jettero, May 2008) put it:
      You use die when the error is something you or your code didn't do right.
      You use croak when it's something your caller isn't doing right.
      die "error: $!" indicates the error is on the line where the error
      occured. croak "error: $!" indicates the error is on the line where
      the caller called your code.
 This is a bit tricky for us given that we have codes calling codes.

- All read / get_* commands should either:
    1) return the proper value
  or
    2) give a consistent error message and leave the position unchanged.

  We have lots of tests for #1, not very many for #2.  The test 71-bad_gets.t
  makes a start at testing these.  This includes cases where reading the code
  goes off the end of the stream, as well as various cases where part of the
  code is invalid (e.g. a base higher than 32/64).
  More work needs to be done, both in testing (e.g. Evenrodeh) and in making
  sure the position is correct after a short read (e.g. Rice, Golomb).


- primes and Goldbach behavior needs to be examined near the 32-bit boundary
  when running on 32-bit Perl.  In fact, all the primes code should be examined
  for possible overflow issues.

- Use proper print/croak % macros instead of %lu etc.

- use UV instead of int.
