This document explains how to run the examples for JSORB.

NOTE:
Each example will compile a Javascript client library
inside the given directory. It might be interesting to
look at these if you want, the Javascript is pretty
readable.

simple/

This is a very minimal test, you simply need to run the
jsorb_server.pl file and then open index.html in your
browser. Some browsers (Firefox) will not let this work
due to security issues because the HTML is a file:// url
and it is accessing a localhost server (odd but true).

forest_tree/
-----------------------------------------------------------

This is a simple example of a Forest::Tree instance
which is served via AJAX. It is currently a very small
tree, but obviously this technique could be easily
used for very large trees that you want to load lazily.

This example requires you to have the Forest module
installed from CPAN

To start the JSORB server you must do the following:

  perl -I lib/ example/forest_tree/jsorb_server.pl

This will start the server and correctly configure the
document root, etc. Next you open up your web browser
and point it at:

  http://localhost:9999/example/forest_tree/index.html

kiokudb_navigator
-----------------------------------------------------------

This is a slightly more complex example of a tool that
will navigate a KiokuDB database. It can handle recursive
data structures and all sorts of other fun KiokuDB stuff.

This example requires you to have the KiokuDB module
installed from CPAN

To start the JSORB server you must do the following:

  perl -I lib/ example/kiokudb_navigator/jsorb_server.pl

This will start the server and correctly configure the
document root, etc. Next you open up your web browser
and point it at:

  http://localhost:9999/example/kiokudb_navigator/index.html
