Use of Webrobot on Perl 5.6.1
=============================

NOTE: It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED to use Perl 5.8.0 or later.
If you insist to use Perl 5.6.1, know what you do and accept
less functionality read on.

What to change?
===============

In Makefile.pl
    require 5.006_001;
instead of 5.8.0. Then install.

Known tests to be failed:
- t/encode*.t      # most of them
- t/xhtml.t

What you will miss
==================

You will miss character conversion. Although there is some support
with MIME::Lite (that can be improved) you will encounter problems
in decoding HTTP responses and matching against some predicates.
You will also encounter warnings concerning encoding.

How to make it usefull anyway
=============================

Use ASCII expressions only in <assertions> and <property>.

How to improve Perl 5.6.1 compatibility
=======================================

Implement a better 'legacy_mode'. See files
        lib/WWW/Webrobot/MyEncode.pm
        lib/WWW/Webrobot/UserAgentConnection.pm
        lib/WWW/Webrobot/Html2XHtml.pm
Make sure it will also run on Perl 5.8.0 and send me the patch.
