IBM::LoadLeveler Reservation API

SYNOPSIS ^

  # Reservation API

  $resid = ll_make_reservation($start_time,$duration,RESERVATION_BY_NODE|RESERVATION_BY_HOSTLIST|RESERVATION_BY_JOBSTEP|RESERVATION_BY_JCF,$data,$options,\@users,\@groups,$group);

  $result = ll_change_reservation($ID,%param);

  $result = ll_bind(\@jobsteplist,$ID,$unbind)

  $result = ll_remove_reservation(\@IDs,\@user_list,\@host_list,\@group_list)

  $result = ll_remove_reservation_xtnd(\@IDs,\@user_list,\@group_list,\@host_list,\@base_partition_list,$begin,$end)

DESCRIPTION ^

The Reservation API has the following functions:

ll_make_reservation
ll_change_reservation
ll_bind
ll_remove_reservation
ll_remove_reservation_xtnd

This API is only available for LoadLeveler versions 3.3.0.0 and higher.

ll_make_reservation
  $resid = ll_make_reservation($start_time,$duration,RESERVATION_BY_NODE|RESERVATION_BY_HOSTLIST|RESERVATION_BY_JOBSTEP|RESERVATION_BY_JCF,$data,$options,\@users,\@groups,$group);

Surprise! This function allows you to create a LoadLeveler reservation. The type and content of the $data variable depends on the reservation type you are creating:

        Reservation Data Type How the nodes are reserved Perl variable
        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        RESERVATION_BY_NODE By number of nodes $integer
        RESERVATION_BY_HOSTLIST         By specifying a host list        \@hosts
        RESERVATION_BY_JOBSTEP          By specifying a job step         $jobstep
        RESERVATION_BY_JCF By specifying a job command file $jcf
    RESERVATION_BY_BG_CNODE By number of Blue Gene c-nodes $integer
    RESERVATION_BY_HOSTFILE     By specifying a host file        $string

If $resid is not undef then it is a string containing the reservation ID.

NOTE: 1. This function makes it's own call to ll_init_reservation_param, hence it is not available via this module. 2. The return of this function changed in 1.07 from ($result,$resid)

ll_change_reservation
  $result = ll_change_reservation($ID,%param);

The ll_change_reservation call is quite complicated and slightly different from the C version. In addition since the current version only allows one reservation to be modified the call takes an ID string of a reservation and not an array of IDs.

The %param uses the following keys and data types:

 To modify Specify Type of New Data
 -----------------------------------------------------------------
 start_time          RESERVATION_START_TIME          $string

eg:

        my $res="f96n012g.123.r"
        my %RES=();
        $RES{"RESERVATION_START_TIME"}="23:01";
        $RES{"RESERVATION_DURATION"}=30;
        $rc=ll_change_reservation($res,\%RES);

If $result != 0 then $IBM::LoadLeveler::errObj contains an error object that may be passed to ll_error

ll_bind
  $result = ll_bind(\@jobsteplist,$ID,$unbind)

Bind or unbind a list of job steps to a reservation ID. If $unbind == 1 then the jobs steps are unbound from the reervation otherwise they will be bound to the reservation.

If $result != 0 then $error contains an error object that may be passed to ll_error

ll_remove_reservation
        $result = ll_remove_reservation(\@IDs,\@user_list,\@host_list,\@group_list)

This function allows you to cancel one or more reservations.

If $result != 0 then $error contains an error object that may be passed to ll_error

ll_remove_reservation_xtnd
        $result = ll_remove_reservation_xtnd(\@IDs,\@user_list,\@group_list,\@host_list,\@base_partition_list,$begin,$end)

This function allows you to cancel one or more reservations and is only available in version 3.5 or higher, it should be used in preference to ll_remove_reservation.

If $result != 0 then $error contains an error object that may be passed to ll_error
