NAME

Bencher::Scenario::BIP39::GenMnemonic - Benchmark generating 20k 128bit mnemonic phrase

VERSION

This document describes version 0.001 of Bencher::Scenario::BIP39::GenMnemonic (from Perl distribution Bencher-Scenarios-BIP39), released on 2018-01-03.

SYNOPSIS

To run benchmark with default option:

 % bencher -m BIP39::GenMnemonic

To run module startup overhead benchmark:

 % bencher --module-startup -m BIP39::GenMnemonic

For more options (dump scenario, list/include/exclude/add participants, list/include/exclude/add datasets, etc), see bencher or run bencher --help.

DESCRIPTION

Packaging a benchmark script as a Bencher scenario makes it convenient to include/exclude/add participants/datasets (either via CLI or Perl code), send the result to a central repository, among others . See Bencher and bencher (CLI) for more details.

BENCHMARKED MODULES

Version numbers shown below are the versions used when running the sample benchmark.

Bitcoin::BIP39 0.001

BENCHMARK PARTICIPANTS

  • Bitcoin::BIP39 (perl_code)

    Code template:

     for (1..20_000) { Bitcoin::BIP39::gen_bip39_mnemonic() }
  • bip39js (perl_code)

    Code template:

     Nodejs::Util::system_nodejs('-e', 'bip39 = require("bip39"); for (i=0; i<20000; i++) { bip39.generateMnemonic() }')

SAMPLE BENCHMARK RESULTS

Run on: perl: v5.26.1, CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz (2 cores), OS: GNU/Linux LinuxMint version 18.2, OS kernel: Linux version 4.8.0-53-generic.
